From an applications engineering standpoint, two schools of thought emerge as considerations for the surgical application. SuperStealth trapezoids are more flexible in that they allow for tapered wound margins and have sufficient diamond edge lengths to facilitate wound enlargement when needed. UltraStealth's are dedicated to a simple, straight in approach with a very consistent dimension each and every time. They lack the ability to enlarge, but are technically more precise in creating a uniform, parallel wound dimension without a concern for inadvertent wound enlargement.
